Wholebake 9 snapped up by Tesco
SUPERMARKET GIANT TESCO SNAPS UP THE WHOLEBAKE 9 BAR
A healthy snack bar made from hemp seed and other natural ingredients has been snapped up by Tesco.
9 Bar, which is produced by Wholebake, will be stocked in 350 Tesco stores nationwide from July 19, 2006.
The bars, which are handmade contain no hydrogenated fats or artificial flavourings and colourings. They are also wheat and gluten free.
Mark Gould, managing director of Wholebake, said: In todays increasingly health conscious society everyday shoppers want wholesome and nutritious food to be readily available in their supermarkets.
We are delighted Tesco is stocking the 9 bar giving its customers a new choice of tasty snack bar which they can enjoy as part of their daily diet and reap all the health benefits.
The tasty snacks contain hemp, a high quality source of protein, together with all nine essential amino acids, which help to build and repair the body.
They also contain sunflower, pumpkin and sesame seeds as well as poppy seeds all a rich source of protein, good fats, many minerals and fibre.
As part of a healthy, balanced diet, 9 Bar can help to lower cholesterol and maintain a healthy heart.
The 50g bars come individually, price 69p, or as three-packs, price £1.79,and have proved popular with people of all ages, including fitness fans and schoolchildren.
In addition to Tesco, 9 Bar is also stocked Sainsburys, Waitrose, Holland and Barrett and a large number of specialist health food shops.
